Banksy doesn’t usually arrange exhibitions. The street artist either sells his artworks online or takes over the entire Bristol Museum to show his pieces. However, you can find and buy Banksy paintings in different parts of the world. For example, you could do so in Austin, the capital of Texas, United States. There, from May 15 – July 11, 2021, the international art gallery West Chelsea Contemporary organized an art exhibit “Icons & Vandals.” The exhibition was dedicated to works by some of the most influential art innovators. Among them, there were Banksy paintings for sale, which was a big surprise for local art lovers.

Another day, another piece of interesting news. It has been recently stated that one Banksy original rat graffiti was painted over by Christopher Walken during the shooting of the TV show The Outlaws. It wasn’t, though, an attempt to mock the iconic contemporary street artist. Official Banksy sources confirmed that the anonymous mural painter sprayed his trademark rat on a wall specifically for the set. That’s how he left the mark, a sort of Easter egg, in the final episode of the show.

Love Is in the Bin: Banksy Sotheby’s Record Has Been Set in London

Banksy’s “Love Is in the Bin” is one of his most famous works ever created in his career so far. It was previously known as “Girl with Balloon,” but things changed in 2018 when Banksy successfully played a trick on art collectors and critics at Sotheby’s by shredding a part of his artwork in front of the audience. Today, on October 14, a new Banksy Sotheby’s record has been set. This time, the artwork was sold for £18,582,000, or 1,750% more than it was sold three years ago.
